March 2017 was another busy – and somewhat controversial – month in poker. We, at 888poker, kicked it off in style with the announcement of two more 888Live Festivals in 2017. One in May in Barcelona and the other in October to be held back where it all started – in London.

Regarding the controversy, March saw a grudge match between poker players Cate Hall and Mike Dentale after he questioned her poker ability in a war of words on Twitter. Cate quickly threw down the gauntlet, challenging Mike to a heads-up battle. Mike accepted, and Cate made quick work of him taking it down 2-0. Well played!

And there’s more exciting news at 888. We are re-branding the Super XL Series as the XL Inferno, and this poker tournament series is destined to be even bigger and better than the last. For starters, the XL Inferno guarantee has been bumped up to a massive $7,500,000!

Think we can’t top that? Well, we are also sponsoring 3 events called “ChipIn” where all the fees will be donated to charity via REG (Raise for Effective Giving). The prize pool money will not be affected, and players will win the same amounts.

See you next month for another Poker Brief!
