Day 7 of XL Blizzard, an 11-day series that runs through January 28, offered up a trio of events. That means 21 events from the 34-tournament schedule are now in the books.

The XL Blizzard, which will award more than $2.8 million, still has several exciting events on the schedule including the $150 buy-in Event #25: $25,000 Knockout, $160 buy-in Event #28: $50,000 6-Max, and the $1,050 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Main Event on Jan. 28.

We’re also offering new promotions such as awarding big cash prizes to anyone who wins multiple events ($1,000,000 if you can win five of them), a “Bubble of Bubbles” tournament (gain entry if/when you bubble a tournament), and the return of the Champion of Champions event.

The Champion of Champions returns for the XL Blizzard series and one lucky 888poker player will win a $12,000 WSOP Vegas package. Each time you play in an XL Blizzard event, you earn leaderboard points. The top 50 players on the leaderboard receive a ticket to the Champion of Champions tournament to be held at 18:00 GMT on January 30.

Also, here’s a quick breakdown on what’s happened in the XL Blizzard thus far:

“PazzoRJ” Captures Malta’s 2nd XL Blizzard Title

The $109 buy-in XL Blizzard Event #19: $40,000 8-Max easily surpassed its guarantee by attracting a 425-player field that rebought 193 time. That created a $61,900 prize pool paid out to the top 56 spots. Finishing in 57th place and earning a place in the “Bubble of Bubbles” tournament was 2016 Super XL VI champ “Gr33nApples,” who hails from Sweden.

Among those to cash were Guntis “luffEEE” Aleskins (29th for $414.73), Cristian “progree69” Ssampaoli (13th for $798.51), “Palyaaa” (6th for $2,166.50), and “AlinGabrielG” (3rd for $6,499.50). After 8 hours and 39 minutes, it was Malta’s “PazzoRJ” who defeated Brazil’s Bernardo “bsdias” Dias to win the title for $11,761.

Early last year, “PazzoRJ” won the 888poker Mega Deep for nearly $26K. As for Dias, he was denied yet again after finishing fifth in last September’s XL Eclipse Event #113: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo for $864.50. Last summer, he also placed third in the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep for $5,240.50.

Crocodile Champ “JohnJones34” Adds Mini 8-Max Title to Résumé

Event #20: $10,000 Mini 8-Max, which cost just $12 enter, drew 1,325 players who rebought 695 times. That more than doubled the advertised guarantee by creating a $22,018 prize pool, which was paid out to the top 160 players.

The man finishing in 161st place and locking up a seat in the “Bubble of Bubbles” tournament was Canada’s “urinal42.” Among those to cash were “heroes333” (73rd for $52.84), “Corey717” (38th for $72.65), “sport1962” (16th for $143.11), “poliakov777” (3rd for $2,201.80).

After 8 hours and 17 minutes, the title came down to Brazil’ “Jpvasc” and the UK’s “JohnJones34.” In the end, the latter prevailed to win $3,963.24 while the latter had to settle for second place and a $2,862.34 payday.

Last October, “JohnJones34” took down the 888poker $50 Turbo Knockout for $669, and a couple weeks earlier won the $6,000 Late Night Crocodile for $3,000.

“CR1TCHZ” Captures Austria’s Second XL Blizzard Title

The $30 buy-in Event #21: $10,000 Late 8-Max attracted 520 players who rebought 172 times to create a $19,030 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 72 players, meaning Canada’s “Afraoc91,” who busted in 73rd place, was the one to earn a seat into the “Bubble of Bubbles” tournament.

Some familiar names to cash included XL Blizzard runner-up “Stiffler29” (49th for $68.50), Guntis “luffEEE” Aleskins (32nd for $123.69), Event #20 champ “JohnJones34” (28th for $123.69), “ch1c0taz0” (9th for $255), and “galan8” (3rd for $1,941.06).

After 6 hours and 20 minutes, Austria’s “CR1TCHZ” bested the UK’s “warhungry90” to win the tournament for $3,596.67.

A Look Ahead to Thursday’s Events

Three more events are in store for Thursday beginning with the $215 buy-in Event #22: $80,000 Quarterback, which will kick off at 19:00.

At the same time, the $44 buy-in Event #23: $20,000 Mini Quarterback will take place. That’ll be followed by the $109 buy-in Event #24: $20,000 Late Quarterback at 21:00.
