The 2015 World Series of Poker in Berlin was an absolute blast. And, 888poker was there to capture the highs and the lows of every minute of the action. The tournament series started out with the 6-handed No Limit Hold'em 3-day event and culminated with the penultimate 5-day Main Event. It was a whirlwind of amateur and professional players, all battling it out for a coveted gold bracelet.
The action in the Main Event with a prize pool of €3,067,400 was no exception. 8-time WSOP bracelet winner, Erik Seidel came close to a ninth, but busted right before the 6-handed televised final table. Fan favourite Andrew Lichtenberger busted fourth for €225,000. And, JC Alvarado placed third, after coming out on the wrong end of a hand he should have won.
The heads-up battle was long and drawn out but, after the dust settled, first place paid out a whopping €883,000. David Lopez, who made the final nine alongside room mate Mario Sanchez, took home a respectable €475,000 for his second place effort.
