In 2014, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) guaranteed a $10 million first-place prize to the winner of the Main Event. Since Swedish Pro Martin Jacobson captured that prize, the payout in poker’s most prestigious tournament has dropped a bit (Joe McKeehen took down $7,683,346 in 2015, and Qui Nguyen won $8,005,310 in last year’s tournament).

As the official sponsor of this year’s WSOP, we at 888poker have decided to correct that with our latest “Supersize ME” promotion.

If you qualify for the 2017 WSOP Main Event on 888poker and go on to win the “Big One,” we’ll ensure you receive a $10,000,000 first-place prize. That’s right; we’re going to make up the difference between the regular payout and whatever it takes to get you up to $10,000,000!

Aside from Jacobson, the only other player in WSOP history to win eight figures in the Main Event was Jamie Gold, who won $12 million way back in 2006. As such, our qualifiers will have the opportunity to not only etch their name in poker history, but to do so by being one of the three biggest winners in 48 years of the WSOP Main Event.

How to Supersize Your Main Event Ticket

You can qualify for as little as 1₵ via our steps satellites, or if you prefer, you can buy in direct to one of our $1,050 Qualifiers held every Sunday now through June 28.

Those who qualify will be awarded a $12,500 WSOP Main Event prize package that includes:

  • five nights (July 9-14) at the luxurious Vdara Hotel Las Vegas
  • a $10,000 Main Event buy-in
  • $1,200 for travel and expenses, daily transportation

Last year, 888poker qualified 148 players from 30 different countries for the WSOP Main Event. Of those, 30 qualified via special “Supersize ME” satellites, which at the time made them eligible for a $5,000,000 bonus if they went on to win the Main Event. Unfortunately, none did with Romania’s Joldis Cosmin, who bowed out on Day 5 in 85thplace out of 6,737 players for $67,855, finishing as the last “Supersize ME” qualifier in the field.

That said, there were two regular 888poker qualifiers at last year’s final table. Neither Fernando Pons nor Griffin Benger was eligible qualified via a “Supersize ME” satellite, but still both walked away with a seven-figure score. The former, who won his way in via a €30 satellite, took home $1 million for finishing in ninth place, while Benger, who invested approximately $1,000 before satelliting in, placed seventh for $1,250,190.

This year all of 888poker ME qualifiers, will be eligible to win the "Super Size ME" bonus.

Lots of Ways to Qualify for a WSOP ME Seat

"I'm a huge fan of the 888poker software," says Benger. "It's polished, vibrant, and even playful -- fun tournament names, throwing tomatoes at opponents. There's a great range of buy-ins for both recreational and professional players, and the satellite program provides a great opportunity for amateurs and an increased edge for pros - everyone's happy. It's my favourite site to play on, and I wouldn't [have been] in the Main Event [last] year if it wasn't for 888poker."

Each year 888poker, the exclusive provider of WSOP qualifiers, sends more and more players to Las Vegas, which in turn has resulted in our players making deeper and deeper runs in the Main Event. It’s only a matter of time before the fairy-tale ending comes true for one of our players, so it might as well be you.

Don’t miss your chances to supersize your Main Event Experience.
