888poker is proud to announce the newest addition to our roster of Ambassadors – 26-year-old Russian Pro Daria “Scarlett_D” Feshchenko.

You may remember Daria as a part of Team Russia during 888poker’s popular “8-Team” competition during the 2018 World Series of Poker.

“I hope that they enjoyed me so much that decided to make me their ambassador,” she said with a laugh.

As for why she decided to come on board with 888poker, she added: “There were a lot of reasons to say yes. First of all, their content is very warm and personal. I feel that it is a great opportunity to do something good for the poker industry, to share my life and story, and try to inspire some people. Also, I like all the crew a lot; they are like family but, at the same time, very professional. And, of course, 888poker is a big name in the industry. I am proud to be part of it.”

She continued: “For me, it will be a very interesting experience, a new chapter in my life. I love poker a lot, and I am very excited that I have the opportunity to do something useful for the community.”

Making Poker Popular in Russia

She’s also excited about highlighting poker in Russia.

“In my country, not all people understand that poker is not gambling. It is an intelligence game and can be a profession. I’ll be very glad to try to show them my life and share my opinions and experiences. Even if you are not a poker player, 888 ambassadors show that everybody can choose the life they want - even if it is not necessarily understood by society.”

Daria joins the likes of Kara Scott, Vivian “Vivi” Saliba, Ana Marquez, and Sofia Lövgren as female Ambassadors for 888poker.

“The team is very cool! Even though I don’t know them personally, yet, they welcomed me with open arms. Ana and Vivi, they are very friendly and nice. Also, I like the fact that there are lots of girls on the team, but this fact is not exploited in a typical feminine way.”

“I prefer to spend time with my son, not just as a mentor, but I think it is very important to be a real friend to your kid,” she said. “Also, I like to read, theatres and ballet. I love to play board games. I like to travel and get new impressions.”

Daria is a philologist and orientalist who studied the Indonesian language at the University of Moscow. She was also a model with several titles to her credit including, “Miss Bikini Eurasia” and “Miss Personality” at Miss Tourism Universe.

A Poker Love Affair

Daria first started playing poker ten years ago, when some friends introduced her to underground poker clubs.

“I fell in love with this game immediately,” she said. “I never heard about forums and online poker, so I just went to the biggest book shop and bought all the books about poker. For a long time, I was playing only underground cash games. But around four years ago I decided to start a new chapter in my career, a more official one. So, I started to travel and play poker. For the last two years, I’ve almost never unpacked my luggage because of my busy schedule of live events.”

She also plays online under the moniker “Scarlett” after Scarlett O’Hara

She also plays online under the moniker “Scarlett” after Scarlett O’Hara, the main character of Margaret Mitchell’s book Gone with the Wind.

“It is a story of young women who grows up from a young capricious and wayward girl to strong and powerful woman,” Daria explains. “But still she always kept her spontaneity and spirit.”

While she spends much of her time playing $50/$100 no-limit Hold’em, she spent time in Vegas this summer playing stakes as high as $300/$600. In the tournament realm, she has amassed more than $236K in earnings including a career-best $37,530 for finishing 12th in the 2018 World Series of Poker Event #68: $1,000 Little One for One Drop.

“For a long time, I was also the No. 1 European female player on the GPI rankings. But now it is my 888 colleague Ana Marquez,” Daria said when asked about what she’s most proud of. “I am super oriented to do my work better and better every day. That will be my biggest accomplishment. Well, to speak honestly, to ship a big tournament would also be cool!”
