The 2023 ChampionChip Games online festival kicked off on October 22. The series featured tournaments based on sporting games wrapped up on the last day of October.

All told the 29-event series catered to over 22,000 combined players and awarded $525,036 in prize money.

  • Brazilian players were far and away the most successful during the series, claiming an astounding 12 titles!
  • Players from Germany, Belarus, and Ukraine each accounted for two titles.
  • Single titles went to countries including Latvia, Romania, Thailand, Denmark, Croatia, Montenegro, Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

The $200,000 GTD Mystery Bounty Main Event began on October 24. For a week, players battled in $60 buy-in flights to make Monday’s Day 2 field. Only 519 players from a 2,868-entry field returned to play down to the final table.

A $20,000 top bounty was up for grabs, which wound up going to Lithuania’s “Laaimis21”, who finished in 93rd place for $160. Along with $201.12 in other bounties, they walked away with a tournament-high $20,361.12 in prize money.

Ukraine’s “TitovSerj” finished the tournament in third place but still walked away with the second-most money. They earned $6,280 for the deep run plus $7,755.32 in bounties for a total payout of $14,035.32.

Others to cash the tournament were the following players:

  • “sheeeeeeeeet” (171st place for $130 + $6,000 in bounties)
  • “GoodStoryDMG” (15th place for $540 + $2,801.12 in bounties)
  • “MapycR” (40th place for $220 + $2,402.24 in bounties)

The final eight players went on an overnight hiatus, with Brazil’s “yujimatsui17” and their stack of 10,062,023 leading the pack. “OnlyBet” of Cyprus sat in second with 7,509,693, while Ukraine’s “TitovSerj” (5,634,515) and Brazil’s “faah13” (5,195,082) both sat over half a million.

From there, it was Brazil’s “SaoJorge2222” (4,995,773), Mexico’s “woop_woop_” (4,947,947), and Ukraine’s “Asya_xD” (3,427,012). While the United Kingdom’s “redkiteab” entered as the short stack with 1,199,946.

On Tuesday, the final table returned to play it live on 888pokerTV, and surprisingly, the big stacks fell pretty early.

Ultimately, Mexico’s “woop_woop_” defeated Brazil’s “SaoJorge2222” in heads-up play to win the tournament for $12,310.

Along with $1,252.52 in bounties, “woop_woop_” banked $13,562.52 in prize money.

On Sunday, October 29, the $11 buy-in, $10K GTD Event #25: Micro Main Event Mystery Bounty had 837 players rebuy 304 times. The 1,141-entry field surpassed the guarantee by generating a $11,410 prize pool, including a $1,000 top bounty.

That wound up going to Brazil’s “ParanoiaJJ”, who also won the tournament for $1,169.15. Along with $1,233.73 in bounties, they earned a big payday of $2,392.88.

Other players to claim bigger bounties were the following:

  • United Kingdom’s “MiaTomDam” (18th place for $32.05 + $330.29 in bounties)
  • Romania’s “SetOff” (53rd place for $18.58 + $355.15 in bounties)

In addition to the winner, four other Brazilian players were at the final table, including “dontbehero”, who placed eighth for $230.04. The other three made it all the way to the end, making it an all-Brazilian final four.

But one by one, the following fell by the wayside –
