The 888poker Mystery Bounty Festival kicked off back on February 19 and recently wrapped on March 7. The 31-event series was a big success catering to a combined 33,893 entrants and awarding $2,208,250 in prize money.

  • Brazilian players dominated the festival capturing 10 titles!
  • Meanwhile, players from Montenegro and the United Kingdom got four titles apiece.
  • Romania was on the board with three.
  • Players in Ukraine and Sweden had two each.
  • Countries with one title to their credit were Canada, Denmark, Andorra, and Germany.

With buy-in ranging from micros to high rollers, there was something for players of all levels and bankrolls.

Here’s a look at some of the bigger stories coming out of the Mystery Bounty Festival in the last half of the online series.

The series culminated with a $160 buy-in, $300K GTD Main Event, which held multiple Day 1 starting flights from March 1-6. All told, the tournament attracted 1,821 players who rebought 246 times.

The 2,067-entry field surpassed the guarantee by creating a $310,050 prize pool that was split between the regular and bounty pools.

The top bounty was $30,000 and that went to “Charles3rd”, who also finished in 14th place for $1,248.39. Along with a few thousand more in bounties, they walked away with a tournament-high $35,228 in prize money.

There were also a pair of $9,000 bounties that went to “JustAnNPC” (38th place for $416.13 + $9,424.75 in bounties) and “idkhtp” (135th place for $272.08 + $9,509.72 in bounties).

Among those to finish in the top 240 spots and make the money were the following –

  • “Inflaatio” (11th place for $1,632.51 + $2,089.32 in bounties)
  • “BetShoveCall” (17th place for $928.29 + $1,729.61 in bounties)
  • “PashaPushu” (20th place for $672.21 + $809.71 in bounties)

  • Nicolas “PKaiser” Fierro (35th place for $480.15 + $509.70 in bounties)

The final table of nine went on an overnight hiatus. Montenegro’s “pivnoypuzec” held the chip lead with 5,350,538 with “2pacnrw16” hot on their heels with 4,790,267.

Ukraine’s “AntonTsi” (3,135,110), Sweden’s “Ibet1X2” (2,745,395), Andorra’s “Panxetillo” (1,604,622), Germany’s “schimpfer” (1,186,956), and Kazakhstan’s “BritiyLobok” (1,158,002) all sat in the middle of the pack. Ukraine’s “VladRon13” (492,860) and Canada’s “Zebest7r” (206,250) were the two short stacks.

Those players returned on Tuesday, March 7 to play down to a winner with action being live streamed on our Twitch 888pokerTV channel. Not surprisingly, the short stacks were the first to fall while the big stacks thrived.
