The WPT DeepStacks, which kicked off on 888poker back on Sunday, November 28, continued this week. With 10 tournaments now in the books, the 28-event high-stakes online poker series is more than a third of the way done.

The series, running through December 21, offers more than $3 million in guaranteed prize pools,

Through the first 10 events, 5,313 entrants have competed and $824,110 in prize money awarded. Winners have hailed from such countries as Finland, Romania, Germany, Russia, Malta, Belarus, and Ireland.

The focal point of the series will be the $1,050 buy-in $1,000,000 GTD Main Event. Day 1s of the Main Event will run from December 5-20, with the survivors of each returning for Day 2 at 19:00 GMT on Monday, December 20.

The winner of that tournament will not only walk away with a big payday, but they will also receive WPT DeepStacks trophy. In fact, the champion from each tournament will win a trophy for their mantle!

Right now, we are hosting daily freerolls offering seats to the multi-flight Main Event satellites. The no-ticket-needed daily freerolls will grant over $200,000 in satellite and sub-satellite tickets during the series.

On Tuesday, November 30, the $525 buy-in Event #3: $75,000 PKO drew 263 players who rebought 56 times So, meant the $75,000 prize pool was split between the regular and bounty pools.

The top 48 finishers got a piece of the former including the following players –

  • “Cander94” (43rd for $306.01 + $262.50 in bounties)
  • 888poker Ambassador Vivian “Vivi.888.” Saliba (32nd for $310.32 + $300 in bounties)
  • “MAMOHT_T” (23rd for $318.94 + $200 in bounties)
  • “rantzi” (11th for $512.89 + $948.44 in bounties)
  • “preTu.ras” (6th for $1,758.48 + $537.50 in bounties)
  • “Bullets98” (3rd for $4,590.15 + $1,767.97 in bounties).

The final two players – Germany’s “pactamah23” and the United Kingdom’s “benmacca93” – each locked up $7,525.26 in prize money for making it to heads-up play. But each battled for a $5,636.31 PKO bounty.

After 7 hours and 22 minutes of play, the German prevailed to claim the title and a total payday of $13,161.57.

On Thursday, December 2, the $440 buy-in Event #5: $75,000 Marathon attracted 134 runners who rebought 31 times.

As a result, the $75,000 prize pool was paid out amongst the top 24 finishers including the following –

  • “leblond1996” (10th - $1,162.50)
  • “alexfull13” (8th - $1,732.50)

After “PrincKrason” bowed out in third place for $9,000, the title came down to Malta’s “tsikimellon” and Ukraine’s “LDenisL888”.

After eight hours of play in the tournament, the final two struck a heads-up deal that saw “LDenisL888” finish as runner-up for $13,848.39. “tsikimellon” became the victor to the tune of $16,076.61

The $525 buy-in Event #9: $200,000 PKO kicked off on Sunday with 320 players who rebought 60 times. The 380-entry field meant the $200K prize pool would be paid to the top 60 finishers.

Among those to cash after Sweden’s “Lahdo15” bubbled in 61st place were the following players –

  • “pactamah23” (46th for $609 + $125 in bounties)
  • “kiskutya23” (30th for $630 + $218.75 in bounties)
  • “23NoraB” (22nd for $682.50 + $250 in bounties)
  • “ShinyMew2” (12th for $1,249.50 + $1,109.38 in bounties)
  • final table bubble boy “puplau4” (10th for $1,249.50 + $3,500.01 in bounties)

The final nine players stopped for the night and returned Monday to play out the final table, which was live streamed with hole cards on the 888pokerTV Twitch channel, A third of the final table were Brazilian players with “ricardo_ns8” (6th for $4,158 + $2,367.20 in bounties) and “Kelvin_kerbe” (4th for $7,728 + $1,796.88 in bounties) bowing out first, and that left “GritinhO_Dzi” as the last Brazilian standing

After the United Kingdom’s “benmacca93” bowed out in third place for $10,668 plus $4,195.32, the title came down to “GritinhO_Dzi” and Germany’s “Ersin_199090”.

Each were guaranteed $17,461,50 in prize money but were battling for an even heftier $23,038.99 PKO bounty.

Eventually “GritinhO_Dzi” prevailed and earned a total payout of $40,500.49!
