What’s Different about PKO Tournaments?

PKO tournaments differ from regular knockout tournaments

PKO tournaments differ from regular knockout tournaments in that, instead of being fixed, a player's bounty increases as they progress in the event. Each time a player knocks out another player, he or she receives a portion (usually 50%) of the eliminated player’s bounty. The other piece is added to their own, increasing their bounty.

It makes for a fun and exciting game that requires a slightly different style of play.

Team888’s Martin Jacobson had one excellent strategy tip:

“Find a good balance between playing aggressively enough to accumulate bounties without being too loose.”

And, 888poker Ambassador, told us the one mistake to avoid making:

“The number one mistake I see people make in [a] PKO MTT is bounty hunting too hard with awful hands when it will ruin their stack if they lose."

We hope you run like a God of the Arena in the upcoming series.

See you at the tables!
