Progressive Knockout (PKO) tournaments are extremely popular in online poker. Similarly, pot-limit Omaha (PLO) has become a favourite action-packed game among players.

Now, 888poker is combining the two hits by offering two daily PKOmaha events.

  1. Firstly, we’re now offering Omaha on the popular 888poker App. You can download it for free now on Android and iOS platforms.
  1. Secondly, we’re introducing two new daily tournaments. They combine the action of PLO with the bounties of Progressive Knockouts (PKO).

And not only is Omaha going mobile, but we've also added a Stacks in Big Blinds (BB) option. This excellent feature allows players to see their chip stack in big blinds.

Stacks in BB is available right now on the new Made to Play 888poker app and in the poker client.

Two PLO/PKO Tourneys on the Menu!

Every day at 18:45 GMT, we will hold the $22 buy-in, $1,000 GTD PKOmaha. Players will start with a 100-big-blind stack and play 8-minute levels. Late registration will be open for 70 minutes.

There will be a max of three rebuys allowed –

  • $10 will go to the regular prize pool
  • $10 to the bounty pool
  • $2 to the house

There will also be a daily $2.20 buy-in, three seats guaranteed satellite at 17:40 GMT.

At 20:15 GMT, we will also hold a $5.50 buy-in, $500 GTD PKOmaha 6-Max. Players will start with a 100-big-blind stack and play 8-minute levels. Late registration will be open for 70 minutes.

$5.50 buy-in, $500 GTD PKOmaha 6-Max

There will be a max of three rebuys allowed –

  • $2.50 will go to the regular prize pool
  • $2.50 to the bounty pool
  • $0.50 to the house

Players can win their way into that event for just $0.50 in a three-seats guaranteed satellite at 18:40 GMT.

PKO tournaments are basically MTT tournaments with an extra cash bounty on every player in the tournament. When a player eliminates an opponent, that player wins the bounty as a cash prize.

Players do not need to pay another fee for their bounty. The KO bounty is in the buy-in amount.

The deeper you go, the bigger bounties you stand to win. Make it to the end, and you’ll win a hefty PKO bounty, which can eclipse the first-place prize.

Study Up on Omaha w/ Vivi Saliba

If you've never tried Pot-Limit Omaha, you're missing out. Not to worry! 888poker Ambassador Vivian “Vivi” Saliba has a beginner PLO crash course that you can use to learn the basics right now.

“PLO is a very simple game. If you’ve already played No-Limit Hold’em, you’re going to learn it very fast,” Saliba said before highlighting the two main differences between the games –

PLO is played with four cards. Hold’em uses just two.

Furthermore, in PLO, you must use two cards from your hand and three from your hand.

Saliba continued: “Even though the rules are pretty simple, you might have to study a little bit to become a good PLO player. You’re gonna have to play way less hands … PLO is a very exciting game also because you’re going to be able to bluff a lot.”
