XL Eclipse Day 2: Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot Nearly Wins Back-to-Back Tornados

The XL Eclipse continued on Monday with 13 more events on the 197-event schedule. Along with the 16 winners from Day 1 of the online series – which will run for two weeks through Sunday, September 24 and feature $8,000,000 in guarantees – 29 players have qualified for the Champion of Champions Event on September 26 at 18:00 GMT.

The top three players in that tournament, which is only open to XL Eclipse winners, will win live event prize packages, which includes the winner receiving a $13,000 package to the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe at King’s Rozvadov.

Day 1: Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot Wins Tornado

“888tonkaaaa” Nearly Wins Back-to-Back Tornados

Speaking of Parker “888tonkaaaa” Talbot, he nearly captured his second title of the XL Eclipse in just two days. Unfortunately for the 888poker Ambassador, who streams his online action on Twitch, he came up one spot short in Event #27: $15,000 Tornado.

That tournament drew 179 entries (69 rebuys) and saw Ukraine’s “Romeopro33” claim the title for $5,332. Among the 27 players to cash were “sgtcyber” (19th - $248), “KellerA (14th - $372), Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer (13th - $372), and 888poker Ambassador Chris “888Moorman” Moorman (12th - $434).

Chile’s Nicolas “PKaiser” Fierro Takes Down Lightning 6-Max

Event #17: $15,000 Lightning 6-Max attracted 134 entries (80 rebuys), which surpassed the advertised guarantee by creating a $21,400 prize pool. Among the 18 players to cash the tournament were “popsnpoker” (13th - $278.20), “MisterN411” (8th - $695.50), and “DibreBruxo” (4th - $1,819).

After 8 hours and 12 minutes, Chile’s Nicolas “PKaiser” Fierro defeated Russia’s “P0vorachivay” to win the title and $5,564 first-place prize. The win came just two weeks after Fierro won the $12,000 Crocodile for $3,506, and three month after he took down the $100,000 Baby Whale for $20,450.

“Magicooo22” Claims Crocodile Title for the Netherlands

The Event #20: $20,000 Crocodile saw 201 players take to the virtual felt, which easily surpassed the guarantee by creating a $30,150 prize pool. That was distributed to the top 27 players including “V.BlomFan60” (24th $301.50), “Kale333” (16th - $376.87), and “Sjapster” (11th - $527.62).

Also making the final table were “P0vorachivay,” who finished runner-up in the Lightning 6-Max, and 2017 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Christopher “NigDawG” Brammer. After 8 hours and 41 minutes, the Netherlands’ “Magicooo22” beat Argentina’s “germaxii” to win $6,482.25.

What’s on Tap for Tomorrow?

On Day 3 of the XL Eclipse, 11 more events will play out beginning with the $109 buy-in Event #30: $15,000 Lightning 6-Max at 13:30. In addition to our full slate of trademark tournaments such as the Swordfish, Crocodile, and Monsoon, we’ll also be hosting on of the most anticipated events of the entire series.

At 18:00, both the $2,100 buy-in Event #36: $500,000 High Roller and $215 buy-in Event #37: $200,000 Mini High Roller will get underway.

On Monday, a $160 buy-in satellite was held into the XL High Roller. Three seats were awarded, and they were claimed by “WadoIchimonj,” “B4NKR0LL3R,” and “PennyHrdaway.”

Two hours later at 20:00, the $160 buy-in Event #40: $65,000 Turbo High Roller will close out the day.
