The XL Eclipse is now more than halfway over thanks to 16 tournaments playing out on Sunday. That not only means 107 of the 197 events are in the books, but 104 players (there have been three repeat winners) have qualified for our series-ending Champion of Champions Event on September 26 at 18:00 GMT. The winner of that event will receive a $13,000 package to the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe at King’s Rozvadov.

Day 8 of the XL Eclipse was a long one due in no small part to Event #95: $40,000 Mini Mega Deep, a tournament that attracted 1,673 players who rebought 653 rebuys. That tournament took more than 18 hours before the UK’s Josh “moccastube” Hart came out on top for $7,857.22.

During that time, 15 other tournaments played out, which you can read about below.

“PokerMogo” Joins Club of XL Inferno and Eclipse Winners

One of our most popular tournaments is the $215 buy-in Mega Deep, and Event #94 of the XL Eclipse was no exception. The tournament drew 725 players that accounted for 451 rebuys. That surpassed the advertised $150K GTD by creating a $235,200 prize pool.

It took 12 hours and 24 minutes, but eventually Romania’s “PokerMogo” bested Sam “WishuluckBRO” Phillips in heads-up play to win $43,982.40. If that name sounds familiar it’s probably because you recognize it from May’s XL Inferno when “PokerMogo” prevailed over a 1,171-player field to win Event #97: $200,000 Tune Up for $44,996.

That means “PokerMogo” is among the half a dozen or so players who’ve won both XL Inferno and Eclipse titles.
