From Thursday, May 14 through Sunday, May 24, 2020, 888poker will play host to the annual XL Inferno. This year’s series will span 11 days and is filled with high-value tournaments and huge prizes; in fact, there will be $1,540,000 in guaranteed prize pools spread across 34 events.
The XL Inferno will culminate with a $250 buy-in, $500,000 GTD Main Event at 17:00 GMT on Sunday, May 24.
Other highlights on the schedule include the $109 buy-in, $75K Opening Event at 18:00 on Thursday, May 14; the $109 buy-in, $150K Tune Up at 18:00 on Sunday, May 17; and $320 buy-in, $100K GTD High Roller at 18:00 on Tuesday, May 19.

Looking to Build on 2019’s Success
Last year, the XL Inferno was comprised of 34 events. The series catered to 39,378 entrants and awarded $1,695,881 in prize money. The Brits dominated the series capturing seven titles, while the Russian contingent was close behind with six.
Meanwhile, Brazilian players claimed four titles, while Malta and Sweden had two each. Other countries represented by an XL Inferno win were Iraq, Austria, Croatia, Latvia, Mexico, Ukraine, Romania, Denmark, Argentina, and Lithuania.
As for last year’s $250 buy-in, $500K GTD Main Event, that tournament attracted 1,634 players who rebought 502 times, which created a $501,960 prize pool. Coming out on top was Russia’s “D3n1sk4PP,” who took home a $70,252.18 first-place prize.
Other winners from last year’s series included “prebzzz” (Event #10: $100,000 Tune Up for $23,376.57), “allinfds” (Event #17: $100,000 High Roller for $$20,450), Anton “anteen” Bertilsson (Event #19: $20,000 Late High Roller for $5,611.50), and Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (Event #20: $50,000 PKO for $9,156.59).
