The $888 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD XL Spring Main Event hosted Day 1 starting flights throughout the series attracting a total of 1,225 entries.

This number surpassed the guarantee by creating a $1,038,800 prize pool. Almost half of that – $500,000 to be exact – was reserved for the mystery bounty pool including a top bounty of $100,000.

Day 2 saw 178 players return to action but only the top 144 finishers were slated to make the money. After Ukraine’s “Kostya_jock” bubbled in 145th place, Sweden’s “r4ndomr4gs” nabbed the $100K bounty in Level 22 (1,500/3,000).

It happened in a three-way all in with the Swedish player going up against “Leopardpls” and “seijistar1”, with the former being at risk.

“Leopardpls”: K♠Q♦

“r4ndomr4gs”: Q♣Q♥

“seijistar1”: 3♥3♣

“r4ndomr4gs” had the best hand and it held as the board ran out 2♣A♦2♠10♥A♠. The bounty of “Leopardpls” led to “r4ndomr4gs” pulling the $100,000 bounty to secure the second-largest payout of the tournament ($101,670.28 - thanks to a 45th-place finish for $1,670.28).

Speaking of “seijistar1”, they also claimed a big bounty and finished in 52nd place for $1,562.52 plus $51,304.34 in bounties. Others to win big bounties were the following players –

  • “icho90” (7th place for $13,793.28 + $26,739.12 in bounties)
  • “Tttrrx” (73rd place for $1,454.76 + $26,739.12 in bounties)
  • “Regis_R69” (26th place for $2,155.20 + $19,608.70 in bounties)
  • “Sheglov” (50th place for $1,562.52 + $17,869.57 in bounties)
  • “Fighta07” (12th place for $6,142.32 + $17,869.56 in bounties)

The final table of eight players went on an overnight break with Lithuania’s “R3li_able” and their stack of 2,830,854 leading the pack, Mexcio’s “3AHYDA” was not far behind with 2,591,085.

From there it went Ukraine’s “1goodshot” (1,977,972), “icho90” (1,307,972), Brazil’s “noWHATfella” (1,196,699), Ukraine’s “R2Rka” (941,200), “SayPlease” (892,131), and Denmark’s “morewater” (512,679).

On Tuesday, that final table returned to battle it out on a live stream on the 888pokerTV Twitch channel. The final hand of the poker tournament was intriguing.

The action went from three-handed play to a winner thanks to a double elimination.

It took place in Level 42 (70,000/140,000) when the bigstacked “R2Rka” moved all-in from the button.

Both “1goodshot” and “R3li_able” called off from the small and big blinds respectively.

“1gooshot”: 10♠10♣

“R3li_able”: A♥K♦

“R2Rka”: K♠Q♠

“R2Rka” had the worst hand but managed to take the lead by pairing the queen on the 8♣Q♥5♦ flop. Neither the J♣ turn nor K♥ river changed a thing and just like that the tournament was over.

“R2Rka” wound up the champ to claim the $83,406.24 top prize plus $13,478.28 in bounties.

But the runner-up “R3li_able” won the most prize money with $112,134.86 ($60,830.52 + $51,304.34 in bounties).
