The Millions Superstorm on 888poker kicked off on September 10 and has already awarded more than $670,000 in prize money. It will feature $8 million in guarantees over 480 events including Day 2 of the $320 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed Main Event.

The festival kicked off with the $160 buy-in 888Millions PKO 8-Max, which attracted 213 players who re-bought 56 times. The $50,000 prize pool was split $29,825 going into the regular pool and $20,175 in the bounty pool.

On Sunday, the $215 buy-in Sunday Special saw 311 players rebuy 91 times. This scenario meant the top 45 finishers would get a piece of the $100,000 prize pool.

Among those to cash the tournament, which was both streamed and live reported on PokerNews, were –

Nearly nine hours of play later, the final hand of the tournament went down.

It took place in Level 40 (175,000/350,000/43,750) when “alexkoab05” moved all-in holding the A♥6♠. Gonzalez called after looking down at the J♥J♣.

The 7♥Q♥10♠ turn gave “alexkoab05” backdoor options, and the 8♣-turn delivered them a gutshot straight draw.

Unfortunately for them, the 2♥ river was a brick and Gonzalez hung on to claim victory.
