888poker’s popular Knockout (KO) Games Series began on Sunday, November 6. Over the course of the next two weeks the 44-event series promised more than $2 million in guaranteed prize pools across its affordable buy-ins. And the event catered to more than 10,000 entrants!

All tournaments were played as special “Mystery Bounty Edition,” meaning they feature one of three bounty components – Mystery, Knockout (KO), or Progressive Knockouts (PKO).

  • Among the biggest winners was an 888pokerTV ticket giveaway winner “quvai” who ended up taking down the Main Event for a total payday of $40,613.23.
  • Also making a grand showing was 888poker StreamTeam member, Jordan Banfield who had his biggest cash ever, finishing in 4th place for $17,326.96!

Players from Brazil led the way with five title wins, while Lithuania was second having claimed three titles. Among the countries to win two titles were Ukraine, Chile, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and Ukraine. The Netherlands, Malta, Ireland, and Moldova each had one.

Here’s a look at some of the bigger winners from the last week of the KO Games on 888poker!

The series concluded with the $250 buy-in, $500,000 GTD Multi-flight Main Event that offered up a massive $50,000 top bounty! Day 1 flights for the tournament kicked off on November 16 and ran through Monday, November 21.

Day 2, which took place later in the day, saw 262 players from a 1,924-entry field return to compete for a portion of the $500,000 prize pool. They played down to the final table, and among those to fall along the way were the following players –

  • “perrymejsen” (70th place for $650 + $686.27 in bounties)
  • Fabrizio “DrMiKee” Gonzalez (52nd place for $700 + $2,872.54)
  • “magoooo12” (10th place for $2,675 + $8,029.42 in bounties)

Also winning big bounties were “Caballika” (76th place for $600 + $16,715.69 in bounties) and Nicolas “PKaiser” Fierro (81st place for $600 + $15,686.28 in bounties).

Busting in 18th place for $1,550 was the UK’s “youler”, who was the lucky winner of the $50,000 bounty. In fact, he won the most money in the tournament taking home $52,050!

The final table of nine players went on an overnight break with the United Kingdom’s “UndeadCretin” and their stack of just over 3 million leading the way. Romania’s "_UpToNoG00D_” was in second place with 2,724,700, while Max “DragoDanzig” Rotko of Finland was in third place with 2,606,990.

Also, at the final table were a pair of superstars! 888poker Stream Team member Jordan “BanfieldJ” Banfield (2,187,240) streamed “biggest FT" of his career to his nearly 12,000 Twitch followers.

And the short-stacked Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt (676,129), arguably the best online tournament poker player in the world, was also in the mix.

Unfortunately for Åstedt, he wasn’t able to spin it up and exited first after jamming from the small blind with the J♦10♠. Rotko called from the big with the K♦6♠. The board ran out A♦K♥4♣8♣6♥ and Åstedt became the first casualty of the final table.

Not long after, a double elimination occurred when “swnov” got it in with the A♥7♥ versus Rotko the A♠Q♠ and “UndeadCretin” with the K♥6♣. The flop came down K♦J♠K♣ to give “UndeadCretin” trips.

He sent two players packing after the 3♠ appeared on the turn followed by the Q♥ on the river. Rotko had the bigger stack so took sixth place for $7,950, while “swnov” finished in seventh place for $5,975.

As for Banfield, his run came to an end in fourth place for $14,425. In his final hand, he got his short stack all in preflop holding the A♥6♣ and was looking to hold against the J♣3♠ of “UndeadCretin”. Unfortunately for the Stream Team member, the board ran out 9♥7♣2♣10♥3♦ and the river ended his tournament.

“UndeadCretin” wound up next on the chopping block taking third for $12,372.55, and that set up a heads-up match between Germany’s “quvai” and Malta’s “overbet13” with the former holding a more than 5:1 chip lead.

The final hand of the tournament took place in Level 45 (150,000/300,000/37,500) when “quvai” limped holding the A♥Q♥. He then called when “overbet13” jammed with the K♦6♣.

The board ran out 7♠10♠9♦A♠4♥ and “overbet13” had to settle for second place for $26,700 plus $1,029.41 in bounties.

As for “quvai”, they claimed the $36,525 top prize to go along with their $4,088.23 in bounties for a total prize of $40,613.23.

The $2,100 buy-in, $100K GTD KO Games Super High Roller PKO kicked off on Sunday as 57 players rebought five times. This number of entries surpassed the guarantee by offering up a $124,000 prize pool split between the regular and bounty pools.

The final table of nine players then went on an overnight hiatus with Brazil’s “seijistar1” and their stack of 135,063 leading the way. Sitting in second and third place respectively were “zavor41k” (92,727) and “r4ndomr4gs” (90,376)

Finland’s “emilio447” was the short stack with 19,527. Sitting in between with 58,980 was online crusher Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt.
