What is Dirty Stack in Poker?

Dirty stack means a chip stack that is not organized neatly. There are two main rules players should follow with their chip stacks. 1. The same value chips should be grouped together. 2. Larger chip values should be placed at the front of our stack, not hidden behind smaller chips. Any stack that doesn’t follow these rules can be described as a dirty stack. Having a dirty stack can be considered a form of cheating because our opponent might think our stack size is smaller than it really is.

What is Dead Man’s Hand in Poker?

The Dead Man’s Hand is generally accepted to be two-pair Aces and Eights, although there is some debate on what actually qualifies as the dead man’s hand. The hand is based on legends and stories surrounding “Wild Bill Hickok” and has zero strategic relevance at the tables.

What is Cowboys in Poker?

What is Coinflip in Poker?

A coinflip is any situation where the outcome is relatively close to 50/50. For example, in Hold’em, we stack off preflop with our TT vs our opponent’s AKs. He will have around 46% chance to win while we will have around 54% chance to win. Seeing as this situation is very close to even, it’s common to refer to it as a coinflip. Often the word coinflip is shortened even further to flip.

What is Chip Dumping in Poker?

Chip dumping refers to the activity of deliberately losing chips to another player at the table.It’s something that criminals have been known to try in an attemptlaunder money they have gained by illegal means. The hope is that if they lose all their funds to another poker account (which they also own), that the original source of the fundsmight be lost. Of course, this is not the only reason why chip dumping might take place. Players might be illegal looking to exploit no-deposit bonuses or get ahead on various promotions offered by the room. Whatever the motive, chip dumping will end you up with all funds being confiscated along with a permanent ban.

What is Brick in Poker?

A brick is typically a low card which does not complete any possible straight or flush draws. It is often used interchangeably with the term blank. For example, if the flop texture in Hold’em is KQJ two-tone, an unsuited Deuce (two) on the turn might be referred to as a brick. It doesn’t make any higher pair possible or complete any available straight and flush draws. The term brick can also be used to indicate that our draw didn’t get there.

What is Belly Buster in Poker?

The term belly buster is a nickname for the inside straight draw in poker. This type of holding is more commonly called a gutshot.It means that we hold 5 cards in numbered order but with a gap in the middle. For example, we hold the 5,6,8,9. If we manage to pick up a seven, then we have made a straight. Presumably it is named belly buster because it’s so painful for our opponent when we catch that lucky card.

What is Ace High in Poker?

Ace-High refers to a type of poker hand. Ace-High means that we have not managed to make a pair, but we do at least hold an Ace meaning that we will beat any other high-card type hand. In a broader sense, Ace-High can also be used to describe a number of different poker situations where the highest card is an Ace. An Ace-High flop, an Ace-High flush, and Ace-High straight etc.

What is Broadway in Poker?

The term broadway refers to the 5 highest ranked cards in poker; the Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace. On their own, each of these cards can be referred to as broadway cards. Wrap is the name given to straight draw with 9 or more outs in Omaha variants of poker. These types of straight draws are only possible as a result of us being dealt 4 cards on the preflop betting round. The maximum straight draw in Hold’em is the open ended straight draw which has 8 outs. Wraps on the other hand can have an many as 20 outs, not including any possible flush draw outs.

What is Wired in Poker?

Wired is a term from Stud that is used to describe pocket pair in the hole on third street. In other words, neither of our paired cards are visible to the table meaning it will be extremely disguised if we make three of a kind. A pair where one of our cards is an upcard (visible to the table) is instead called a ‘split’ pair.

What is Vulnerable in Poker?

Vulnerable in poker is the term used to describe a hand that is likely to be outdrawn assuming it is currently the best hand. For example, when gauging the vulnerability of a pair, there are typically three areas we look at. 1. Possibility of villain making a higher pair. 2. Possibility of villain completing a straight. 3. Possibility of villain making a flush. If all of these eventualities are either unlikely or impossible, then our pair should not be considered as vulnerable.
