Explanation of Double Up

To “double up” simply means to double the size of our chip stack. This would typically happen when we are all in and win.

Example of Double Up used in a sentence -> We actually managed to double up on the very first hand of the tournament after getting dealt Aces under the gun.

How to Use Double Up as Part of Your Poker Strategy

As players approach the later stages of a tournament, they will often find themselves with a short stack. At this stage (especially with 10bb and less) players will be actively looking for a double up. They’ll typically either double up or bust out of the tournament.
